Yearly billing works out at about $15.17 a month for Pro and $69.33 for Platinum+. The per-1,000 figure only holds if you use most of the allowance; at half use, it doubles.
How the cap plays out
The cap is monthly and counts every DM, including follow-gate messages. A gated campaign sends about two DMs per person, so 12,500 commenters use a whole Pro allowance. When you reach the cap, sending stops until the month resets or you upgrade, which tends to happen on the post that is doing best.

The jump that hurts is between Pro and Platinum+. An account that sends 26,000 DMs in its best month pays $99 that month, more than five times Pro, even if every other month fits in 25,000.
