The best WhatsApp Business API providers

By WordBite Editorial. Updated 16 October 2026.

Every business that sends WhatsApp messages at scale uses the WhatsApp Business Platform through a provider. The provider handles onboarding, templates, the inbox and automation; Meta charges for the messages. Three questions separate providers: who owns the WhatsApp Business Account (WABA), what they add to Meta's message charges, and how hard onboarding is.

Since 1 July 2025 Meta charges per delivered message, by category (marketing, utility, authentication, service) and by the recipient's country.

Who owns the WhatsApp Business Account?

When a provider creates the WABA inside its own business account, your number's history, templates and quality rating sit with them. Moving later can mean re-verifying and rebuilding. When the WABA is created inside your Meta business account, you can change providers and keep everything. Ask any provider which it does before you sign up.

Onboarding checklist

  1. A Meta business account, verified if you can, since verification affects your limits.
  2. A phone number that is not already on the WhatsApp app, or that you are ready to move.
  3. Your display name and business details as you want customers to see them.
  4. Your first templates: an order confirmation and an opt-in welcome are a good start.
  5. A plan for opt-in. Meta requires businesses to collect opt-in that clearly states the person is agreeing to receive messages from the business, and names the business.

Limits every provider works within

New business portfolios start with a messaging limit of 250 people in a moving 24-hour period, which can rise to 2,000, 10,000, 100,000 and then unlimited as you send high-quality messages and use at least half of your limit in 7 days. Every template has a quality rating based on usage, customer feedback and engagement; low ratings can lead to template pacing or pausing. A provider cannot lift these limits for you, though good ones help you stay within them.
