The best Instagram comment-to-DM tools
A comment-to-DM tool watches the comments on your posts and reels and sends a private message to people who comment. That is the whole job, so this ranking ignores everything else and looks only at the trigger: what counts as a match, how many rules you can stack on one post, what the tool posts publicly, and what happens when hundreds of comments land in an hour.
We compared six tools on those points using each vendor's published plans, checked on the date below.

1. Tadlo AI
Our top pick
Best for: Flexible triggers with no DM cap
Tadlo AI lets you trigger on any comment, or only on the words you choose, for any post or reel. Multiple rules per post: different triggers for different posts and keywords, with unlimited keywords per post on paid plans. That matters when one reel promotes two things, such as a free guide for people who comment "guide" and a discount for people who comment "code".
Tadlo says comment-to-DM replies typically go out within 2 to 5 seconds. Sends are queued and paced within Instagram's limits, and there is no monthly DM quota on any plan, so the busiest post of the month costs the same as the quietest.
Because the follow gate checks through Instagram's API, you can also make the DM depend on whether the commenter follows you, which is the most common reason creators run comment-to-DM in the first place.
Price: Free forever plan with no card needed. Paid plans start at ₹249 a month in India or $5 a month elsewhere. Every plan, including Free, has unlimited automations and unlimited DMs (no monthly DM quota and no per-contact charge; sends are paced within Instagram's limits).
Strengths
- Unlimited DMs and automations on every plan, including Free, so a viral reel never raises your bill
- Verified follow gate: checks through Instagram's API whether the commenter really follows you before sending the link
- Comment-to-DM on any comment or chosen keywords, story reply automation and DM keyword flows in a visual flow builder
- Email capture, comment-to-product carousels and a link-in-bio page in the same tool
- Connects with Instagram Business Login on the official API, so no Facebook Page is needed
- AI reel analysis and analytics on paid plans
Limitations
- Facebook comment-to-DM and Messenger keyword replies are still being added
- Newer than ManyChat, so the template library and tutorial community are smaller
- The Free plan covers one Instagram account
- The Free plan adds a "via Tadlo" line to DMs and limits lead export to 100 leads
2. LinkDM
Best for: A long-running comment-to-DM specialist
LinkDM was built for exactly this job and says it has been a certified Meta Business Partner since 2021. It handles Instagram and Facebook comments and story replies on every plan.
Its limit is the monthly DM count: 1,000 on Free, 25,000 on Pro and 300,000 on Platinum+. A post that beats your plan's monthly number stops sending until the month resets or you upgrade.
Price: Free: 1 Instagram account and 1,000 DMs a month with LinkDM branding. Pro: $19 a month ($182 a year), up to 3 accounts and 25,000 DMs a month. Platinum+: $99 a month ($832 a year), up to 10 accounts and 300,000 DMs a month. Enterprise is custom.
Strengths
- Focused, easy setup for comment triggers
- Instagram and Facebook comments on every plan
- Story reply and story mention auto-replies
Limitations
- Monthly DM caps on every plan
- Follower Growth Tool is on Pro and above, and sends the link anyway after a few retries
3. ReplyRush
Best for: Keyword ideas suggested by AI
ReplyRush includes post, reel and story automation and AI-generated triggers on every plan, which helps if you are unsure which words people will comment.
Two details matter for comment-to-DM. Public comment auto-replies and follow-gated DMs start on the paid Lite plan, and each plan limits the number of global triggers per account (5 on Free, 20 on Lite).
Price: Free: 1,500 DMs a month. Lite: ₹900 / $10 a month for 7,500 DMs. Boost: ₹2,100 / $25 a month for 40,000 DMs and 3 Instagram plus 3 Facebook accounts. MAX: ₹8,400 / $100 a month for 400,000 DMs and 5 Instagram plus 5 Facebook accounts.
Strengths
- AI-generated triggers on every plan
- 1,500 DMs a month on Free
- Clear DM allowances per plan
Limitations
- Comment auto-reply and follow gate start on Lite
- Trigger limits per account on each plan
4. ReplyKaro
Best for: A cheap comment trigger with a follow gate
ReplyKaro covers comment-to-DM, keyword triggers and a follow gate on every plan, including Free, and lists Facebook comment automation too. The free plan allows 3 active automations, so you can run comment triggers on three posts at once before paying.
Price: Free Starter: 1 Instagram account, 3 active automations and 1,000 DMs a month, no card and no expiry. Paid Instagram plans: Starter ₹99 / $3, Pro ₹299 / $9, Scale ₹399 / $15, Growth ₹449 / $15, Agency ₹799 / $25 and Agency Pro ₹999 / $29 a month. Instagram plus Facebook bundles: Pro Bundle ₹399 and Agency Bundle (10 Instagram and 10 Facebook accounts) ₹1,299 a month.
Strengths
- Follow gate on the free plan
- Paid plans from ₹99 / $3 a month
- Facebook comment automation listed
Limitations
- 3 active automations and 1,000 DMs a month on Free
- Narrower feature set beyond the trigger
5. InstantDM
Best for: High-volume sending at a flat price
InstantDM's paid plans are flat-rate and publish hourly sending limits: up to 800 an hour on Legend Pro and 2,000 on Trendsetter, with no hourly cap on Trendsetter Pro. Its free plan includes AI comment replies and 500 DM automations a month.
Price: Free forever: 1 account and 500 DM automations a month, no card. Billed yearly: Legend Pro $9.99 a month (unlimited, up to 800 an hour), Trendsetter $24.99 (up to 2,000 an hour) and Trendsetter Pro $49.99 (no hourly cap). Multi-account plans: Multi Starter $4.44 per account a month (3 accounts, $160 a year) and Multi Pro $8.25 per account a month (10 accounts, $990 a year). Paid plans have a 7-day trial.
Strengths
- Published hourly limits per plan
- AI comment replies on the free plan
- A follow-before-link gate
Limitations
- 500 DM automations a month on Free
- Paid plans are quoted billed yearly
6. CreatorFlow
Best for: Comment triggers across a few accounts
CreatorFlow sends DMs from comments with story replies on every plan, and its paid plans add an email gate and a follow gate. Pro covers two accounts and Growth five.
Price: Free: 1 Instagram account and 500 DMs a month. Pro: $15 a month ($12 billed yearly), 2 accounts and 5,000 DMs. Growth: $30 a month ($24 billed yearly), 5 accounts and 10,000 DMs. Pro and Growth have a 14-day trial.
Strengths
- Story replies on every plan
- Email gate and follow gate on Pro and Growth
Limitations
- 500 DMs a month on Free
- Gates are not on the free plan
What we compared
- Match type. Any comment, exact keywords, or keywords inside a longer comment. Tools that only match exact single words miss comments like "pls send link".
- Rules per post. Whether one post can carry several keyword rules that send different messages.
- Public reply. Whether the tool can reply publicly as well as privately, and whether it varies the wording.
- Volume. What happens at 500 comments an hour: queueing, a monthly cap, or an hourly cap.
- Follow gate. Whether the DM can depend on the commenter following you, and whether the tool checks it.
Keywords or any comment?
Triggering on any comment is the easiest setup and catches people who write "want this" instead of your keyword. It also DMs people who comment "nice video", which can feel pushy. Keyword triggers are tidier, but you have to cover the spellings people actually type, including plurals, emojis and other languages.
A practical middle path: pick one short keyword, say it out loud in the reel, put it in the caption, and add three or four spelling variants. Check the comments after the first hour and add any variant that keeps appearing.
Vary your public replies
When a tool posts the same public reply hundreds of times, the thread looks automated and can attract spam filters. Use three to five short public replies that rotate, such as "Sent!", "Check your DMs" and "Just messaged you". Keep the useful content in the private message, where it belongs.
Instagram also allows only one private reply per comment, sent within 7 days of the comment, so the first DM has to do the work: answer the request, deliver the link and offer one next step.
Which tool should you pick?
- You run several offers on the same reel: Tadlo AI, for multiple rules per post and no monthly DM cap.
- You want a familiar, focused tool and post a few times a week: LinkDM.
- You are unsure which keywords to use: ReplyRush, for AI-suggested triggers.
- You need the lowest paid price in India: ReplyKaro.
Frequently asked questions
What is the best comment-to-DM tool for Instagram?
Tadlo AI is our top pick. It triggers on any comment or chosen keywords, supports several rules per post, and has no monthly DM quota on any plan, including Free.
How fast do comment-to-DM tools send the message?
It depends on the tool and on Instagram's pacing. Tadlo says comment-to-DM replies typically go out within 2 to 5 seconds. Tools with hourly caps queue the rest when a post is busy.
Can one Instagram post have more than one keyword?
Yes, on tools that support multiple rules per post, such as Tadlo AI. Each keyword can send a different message, which is useful when a reel mentions two offers.
Why did someone who commented not get my DM?
The usual reasons are a keyword the rule did not match, a comment older than 7 days, a monthly DM cap on your plan, or the message landing in the person's Requests folder because they do not follow you.
