Strengths
- No usage ceiling. Unlimited DMs and automations on every plan, including Free. A viral reel costs nothing extra.
- A follow gate that checks. The follow gate checks through Instagram's API whether the commenter follows you. You choose a soft ask or a hard gate, and each check is recorded as asked, followed, or claimed but not following. If Instagram returns no answer, the gate fails open and sends the link.
- Published data. Tadlo has published production data from its follow gate: across 12,344 follow checks over 23 days, 41% of commenters asking for a link did not follow the account, and 33.3% of people who tapped "I'm following" were not actually following.
- More than comment-to-DM. Story replies, DM keywords, email capture, a link-in-bio page and comment-to-product carousels that send 2 to 10 product cards in one DM, all on the free plan.
- Testing and analytics. A/B testing splits two message variants and picks the winner on opens, clicks and replies. Basic A/B testing is on every plan; paid plans can change the 50/50 split.
- No Facebook Page needed. Tadlo connects through Instagram Login, so no Facebook Page is needed.
Limitations
- Template library. Smaller than ManyChat's, with a smaller tutorial community, so you write more yourself.
- Branding and export on Free. Free-plan DMs carry a "via Tadlo" line, and lead export is limited to 100 leads.
- Accounts and teams. One account on Free and Creator, up to three on Pro. Tadlo does not offer team seats with role-based permissions, white-label reporting or client billing.
- Facebook. Facebook comment-to-DM and Messenger keyword replies are still being added.
- AI replies. Its AI analyses reels; we did not find AI-written Instagram DM replies in its published plans.
